On a way to an unknown place
Absent minded this youth beholds
Spending her weekends in disgrace.
Changes going at rapid speed
No longer short and sweet
Moving from child to teen
A disrespectful girl who mistreats.
Education high in value
As it should be taken serious
School calls coming in
Parents look down on her furious.
Without a caring purpose
Grades are just the average C
Enough only just to get by
Not concerning what she could be.
Rest in the morning, up at night.
The thirst never comes to a close
Dancing the time away by
Having the time of your life.
Love is in the air
Just like an evening star
Until you hit a bump on the way
Thinking that being together would go far.
A feeling of excitement
Fills your heart with warm and ease
Then despair of passion moves in reverse
Bringing you sorrow down to your knees.
This era she lives in
Is almost at the end of its road
Little does she know
She’s soon to enter the legal code.
The beat of the clock is ticking
Time keeps moving at a constant speed
Never does it wait or stop
Oh how is she ever going to succeed?
Seventeen years
Three Hundred Sixty-Four days
Blowing out the candles
Quickly comes the last phase.
An alarm sets off in her head
Thinking about ideas for a career
Pulling herself together
Because graduation is almost here.
Celebrating with family and friends
Tears of happiness drop down the face
Bold enough to take on the world
Now she’s getting kicked out to find her own place.
One who used to be so childlike
Had grew up so fast
Now a bold minded adult
Is taking a look back at her past.
An intelligent women
No longer a teen
Working on her future
So that she can fulfill her dream.
